Hello,

I would like to announce an experiment I made after meeting Olga
Caprotti
from the OpenMath project in Lisbon a week ago.

I develop jDvi, a dvi file viewer written in Java, that allows to place
TeX documents on the web
and even can embedd Java applets in the document (see
httP://www-sfb288.math.tu-belrin.de/jdvi/ )

Now I made a rough version of jDvi that can show OpenMath
representations of formulas that
have been coded via specials in the TeX sources of the documents.
Please have a look at (you will need a Java 1.1 enabled browser)

http://www-sfb288.math.tu-berlin.de/~timh/experiments/omTest/

How difficult would it be to modify OpenMath2LaTeX translators to
generate the specials automatically?

Please answer this mail to timh at sfb288.math.tu-berlin.de since I am
currently not joining the list.

Best Regards Tim.
