We are very pleased to announce the first public release of

the OpenMath Worksheet (OMWS) and the OpenMath Dispatcher (OMD)

a client/server system for offering easy access to OpenMath - based
computation over the internet. The software was developed in the Cathode
2 working group (http://www-lmc.imag.fr/cathode2/).

Highlights:
- input and output OpenMath objects in a Maple-like notation
- access to computational services written in Maple or Mathematica
- Reduce - based services available (needs additional OpenMath support)
- convert and send OpenMath objects from the command line -- this allows
access from Computer Algebra systems
- a generic server that accepts OpenMath objects and dispatches them to
services.
- Open Source license (GNU LGPL)

OMWS and OMD are written completely in Java, so it should run on any
platform that has a Java runtime environment. The client and server
parts use the Java OpenMath library by the PolyMath Developers Group.
