                   CALL FOR PAPERS JSC-ISSAC 2009

                   JOURNAL OF SYMBOLIC COMPUTATION

SPECIAL ISSUE ON SYMBOLIC AND ALGEBRAIC COMPUTATION
                 METHODOLOGY, APPLICATIONS, SYSTEMS

Guest Editors
Jeremy Johnson, Erich Kaltofen, and Hyungju Park

This special issue is related to topics discussed in the context
of the ISSAC Conference in July 2009 at KIAS in Seoul, Korea

                  http://issac2009.kias.re.kr/

The International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation
(ISSAC) is the premier annual conference to present and discuss
new developments and original research results in all areas of
symbolic mathematical computation.

Topics solicited are those covered by ISSAC 2009 including
-- all of computer algebra
-- algebraic methods in computational geometry and in theorem
    proving
-- the computer science of creating software for doing mathematics
Applications of symbolic computation to
the natural sciences, life science, engineering, education,
    and others
For more details, see, e.g., the TOC in the Computer Algebra
Handbook URL: http://issac2009.kias.re.kr/cah_toc.pdf
In addition and not exclusively, applications of symbolic
computation to
-- new models of computation (e.g., quantum computation, origami
    mathematics)
-- algebraic statistics
Certification of numerical results by symbolic computation
Implementation of symbolic computation systems on compact and mobile
devices.

The Special Issue will contain a selection of papers containing
orginal or SUBSTANTIALLY EXTENDED published work on these topics.
The submission is open to contributions not necessarly related to
papers included in the Proceedings of ISSAC 2009.

The guiding principle for the publication procedure will be the
following: original research results are solicited for submission.
Papers must not duplicate work already published or submitted for
publication elsewhere. New ideas on work included in the
Proceedings of ISSAC 2009 are welcome. In that case the cover
letter should explain what the new ideas are compared to the related
ISSAC 2008 Proceedings paper.

- Papers submissions should follow the guidelines for JSC submssions
(see www4.ncsu.edu/~hong/jsc.htm) and should be submitted to easy
   chair at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=jscissac09

- All the papers will be refereed according to the JSC standards.

- DEADLINE: February 1, 2010
