THIRD INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SECURITY ASSURANCE IN THE CLOUD (IWSAC 2015)
Held in conjunction with 12th IEEE International Conference on Cloud and
Big Data Computing (CBDCom2015)
August 10-14 2015, Beijing, China
Website: http://www.di.unimi.it/iwsac2015

IWSAC 2015 BACKGROUND AND GOALS
Cloud computing represents a major shift in the way we develop and
deploy systems and services. It has many benefits such as better
utilization of hardware resources by the ease of deployment,
scalability, reduced costs, increased efficiency, and high availability
of services using Internet. However, the security challenges related to
cloud computing act as barrier to its widespread adoption. Cloud
computing paradigm is also changing the traditional view of security
introducing new service security risks and threats, and requires
re-thinking of current assurance, development, testing, and verification
methodologies. In particular, security assurance in the cloud is
becoming a pressing need to increase the confidence of the cloud actors
that the cloud and its services are behaving as expected, and requires
novel approaches addressing SOA and cloud peculiarities. The third
edition of IWSAC workshop aims to address the security assurance issues
related to the deployment of services in the Cloud, along with
evaluating their impact on traditional security solutions for software
and network systems.

The workshop seeks submissions from academia and industry presenting
novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of security and
assurance of services implemented in the Cloud, as well as experimental
studies in Cloud infrastructures, the implementation of services, and
lessons learned. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Access control and Identity management in cloud
* Authentication and access control in the cloud
* Challenges in moving critical systems to the cloud
* Cloud accountability
* Cloud audit
* Cloud compliance
* Cloud certification
* Cloud governance
* Cloud monitoring system
* Cloud security principles
* Cloud transparency, introspection, and outrospection
* Cybersecurity in the cloud
* Data security and privacy in the cloud
* Information assurance and trust management
* Insecure APIs and interfaces in the cloud
* Intrusion detection and prevention in the cloud
* Malicious insiders and shared technology vulnerabilities in the cloud
* Multi-tenancy and delegation of trust in cloud
* Privacy in the cloud
* Risks and compliance issues in cloud
* Security assurance in the cloud
* Security and assurance protocols in the cloud
* Service level agreements
* Service procurement in the cloud
* Service verification in critical cloud services
* Test-based and monitoring-based verification of cloud services

IMPORTANT DATES
Paper submission due: May 19, 2015
Notification of acceptance: June 2, 2015
Final Camera-ready papers Due: June 15, 2015
Conference: 10 August 2015

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers that
are not being considered for publication in any other forum. Papers must
follow the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting
Guidelines, using one of the templates provided at
http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting for Word and LaTeX.
The font size, margins, inter-column spacing, and line spacing in the
templates must be kept unchanged.
Papers submitted cannot exceed six pages in length, including reference
and appendix. Up to 2 extra pages may be purchased at $50 (US dollars)
per extra page. Each submission should be regarded as an undertaking
that, if the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors must
register for the workshop and attend the workshop to present the work in
order for the paper to be included in the IEEE Digital Library.

PUBLICATIONS
Accepted papers will be published in proceedings of the CBD 2015 conference
IEEE CBD 2015 proceedings will be submitted for publication in IEEE
Computer Society Digital Library (IEEE CSDL) and in IEEE Xplore [1].
Proceedings will be submitted for EI indexing [2]. Extended versions of
selected best papers will be considered for publication in special
issues of several SCI-indexed international journals.
[1] While all conferences sponsored by the IEEE and/or published by CPS
will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore and the CSDL, all
conference proceedings must meet IEEE's quality standards, and IEEE
reserves the right not to publish any proceedings that do not meet these
standards.
[2] The IEEE cannot guarantee that any particular abstract or index
entry will be included in EI Compendex or any other indexing service.
IEEE makes its best efforts to ensure indexing, but the indexing
services are independent organizations not subject to IEEE control.
All submissions should be written in English and submitted via EasyChair
and the submission site is here:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iwsac2015
Each submission will be peer reviewed by at least three members of the
program committee.
