-- Call for Papers: Reasoning, Learning, and Decision Making --

The special track on Reasoning, Learning, and Decision Making
emphasizes the synergistic interactions between KR and complementary
fields of AI like (machine) learning, robotics, multiagent systems,
and decision-making in autonomous systems.

We welcome contributions that extend the state-of-the-art at the
intersection of KR with any of the fields mentioned above. These may
include, for example, the integration of knowledge representation and
reasoning into whole robotic systems, examples where autonomous
systems benefit from KR, harnessing common-sense reasoning and
explicit world models for decision-making, and extensions of KR
techniques to cope with the challenges that arise when taking
decisions in different environments or when interacting with the
physical world. The track is also looking for submissions that combine
aspects of KR and machine learning (ML) research, including the use of
KR methods for solving ML challenges, the use of ML methods for
solving KR challenges, the integration of learning and reasoning at
modeling or solving, and the application of combined KR and ML
approaches to solving real-world problems.

-- Topics of Interest --

We welcome papers on a wide range of topics, including but not limited
to:

• Learning symbolic knowledge, such as ontologies and knowledge
graphs, action theories, commonsense knowledge, spatial and
temporal theories, preference models and causal models
• Knowledge representation and reasoning in the computation,
synthesis, analysis, verification, reuse, and repair of plans
• Machine-learning driven reasoning algorithms
• Neural-symbolic learning
• Statistical relational learning
• Symbolic reinforcement learning
• Learning symbolic abstractions from unstructured data
• Expressive power of learning representations
• Knowledge-driven decision making
• Combining discrete and continuous, quantitative and qualitative,
logical and probabilistic representations and reasoning methods
(e.g., task planning with motion planning)
• Architectures that combine data-driven techniques and formal
     reasoning

-- Types of Submissions --

Submissions to the special track can be of two types:

• Research papers (9 pages excluding references)
• Position papers (3-5 pages excluding references)

Both kinds of papers must be prepared and submitted according to the
authors' guidelines on the submission page before the deadline:
https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kr.org%2FKR2024%2Fsubmission.php&data=05%7C02%7C%7Ca3cbdecaab8846b8537508dc429dcedc%7Ccc7df24760ce4a0f9d75704cf60efc64%7C0%7C0%7C638458492752452967%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=91PVO6n2oDy9U9MSqNqP4TgQG%2F4dUR0EA8cqcH%2BfgJU%3D&reserved=0

Both regular and position papers in the special track have to fall
into the intersection of KR and at least one other field. Papers not
meeting this criterion will be identified before the actual reviewing
process and will not be admitted for evaluation.

Research papers are regular research papers as similar as for the
Main Track:
https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kr.org%2FKR2024%2Fcfp_main_track.php&data=05%7C02%7C%7Ca3cbdecaab8846b8537508dc429dcedc%7Ccc7df24760ce4a0f9d75704cf60efc64%7C0%7C0%7C638458492752452967%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=EzH7SvE%2BRiubk2Rjyi9kl8gapYyoybY8%2BF%2FBJ4kY9l8%3D&reserved=0

Position papers can be of different kinds. Examples include, but are
not confined to, articulating personal stances regarding the potential
application of Knowledge Representation (KR) in diverse domains,
advocating for or against specific avenues of research, outlining a
vision for KR's role in other fields, or proposing alterations to the
evaluation criteria of our research. The assessment of position papers
will primarily hinge on their ability to offer a compelling
perspective deserving of broader attention within the KR community,
regardless of accordance with the expressed viewpoint by reviewers.
These papers aim to provoke constructive and respectful discourse on
relevant subjects requiring the collective insights of our community.
Furthermore, they must adhere to rigorous standards, necessitating
robust evidential support for all assertions, timeliness, relevance,
and excellence in terms of writing and organization.
