doesn't     <OMS cd="linalg2" name="vector"/>, and MathML  <vector>
do this?

Also                 <OMS name="subscript" cd="to=be=written"/>
is sort of related to vector_selector from linalg1.

to generate a vector of length n for some parameter n, mathml <vector
can take a <condition> child and a bvar rather than a finite list of
components.
