[Om3] Content of CDName and other texts: with or w/o whitespace?

Dear all,

finally finishing the support for importing OpenMath CDs into SWiM, I
realised that leading and trailing whitespace is used for the content of the
Name, CDName, and other elements, and that this is apparently valid w.r.t. the
Relax NG Schema. However, I think it makes it quite hard to process CDs
automatically, as the programmer (me in this case) always has to remember that
there can be whitespace and thus must wrap any reference to the content of
such an element into some function like normalize-space() in XPath or trim()
in many other languages. Is this intended, to make the CD XML source code more
readable, or should we rather do away with it?

Best,

Christoph
