Surely many of these things are functions with arguments, not just
representations or those highly unmathematical creatures,
 'constructors'?

 ---------------

Also some of these names should contain the word 'complex' since
things like 'arg' and 'conjugate' have many unrelated meanings.

 ---------------

There are many mystical assumptions about a plane (described as
complex) behind all this. Please can we have some background on this
geometry or stick to algebraic descriptions?

 ---------------

 Does \theta have a range?

Also 'the argument' (needs a range) or 'an argument'?

This is less of a problem that you might think with your cMathML2 hat
one. Names in MathML3 and OM are pairs of the CD name and the symbol
name. Therefore all of them have "complex1" in the name automatically.
