 why restrict this? (finite is too restrictive, and anything else too
 hard to state for an intended k-12 audience isn't it? We don't say that
 you can only use the <int/> operator with integrable functions, applying
 min to some set that doesn't have a minimum doesn't seem any
 different. You may want to say
 min (|R ) is undefined...., or you may want to write min(|R)  because
 you are confused, or because you've applied some funky ordering such that
 it is defined, MathMl spec doesn't need to take a view does it?
