 >>Are 'multisets' in K-14 (for maths,not CS)?

 >yes except I think I called them "bags" when I was at school.

Oh, yes; with black gobstoppers and pink gobstoppers: I recall it now.
[Technically not from school as I am ancient enough that probability
and sets and such funny modern ideas were considered far too difficult
 for K-12 back then.]

 >>The empty multiset is identical to the empty set (I think:-).
 >next you'll be telling me that zero in the integers is the same as zero
 in the real numbers:-)

 Don't get me started ...:-)

 >>Is A and S a useful reference for 'K-14 users' or software implementors?

 >mainly as an arbiter of where to take branch cuts for inverse functions.
Rather than show any bias between say mathematica or maple or derive
definitions, we (OM) just said we'd use whatever A&S used, except it then
turned out they changed the definitions between various printings so we
ended up having to specify a particular version. James could fill you in
 on the gory details:-)

Ah yes, been there, done that!
