FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
PolyMath Development Group is pleased to announce that the
First NAOMI Workshop will be held in Vancouver on February 13,
1998.
The International OpenMath Consortium started in Europe to
create such a standard. Now, the OpenMath standard itself has
matured to the point where it will be a way of describing
semantic mathematical information in the World Wide Web
Consortium's MathML (HTML Math) effort (details available on
W3C's pages, including basics).
NAOMI is the organization coordinating North American research
and development of enterprise solutions for building OpenMath-
conformant applications and environments. Applications of the
standard range from symbolic and numeric computing, through
education and online publishing, and through to aerospace and
other complex engineered systems.
