Introduction
The CRISiS Ph.D. Workshop is intended to bring together Ph.D. students
working on topics related to CRISiS conference series. The workshop will
offer Ph.D. students the opportunity to present, discuss, and receive
feedback on their research in a constructive and international
atmosphere. The workshop will be accompanied by prominent professors and
researchers in the field of security and privacy. These accompanying
professors will participate actively, mentoring and contribute to the
discussions. The workshop is co-located with CRISiS 2013 conference.
Submission
We welcome submissions from PhD students at any stage of their PhD
activity. Students in the early stage of their PhDs should focus on the
problem that will be tackled, explain why it is relevant, detail the
reasons for which the existing solutions are not adequate, and sketch
the new solutions that are pursued.
Students in the middle or final stage of their PhDs should be more
concrete in describing their achivements, still in the context of their
doctoral work. The following two types of paper are considered (papers
should be formatted according to the same guidelines of CRISiS papers
and submitted in PDF format):
Full papers: Full papers describing doctoral work. The paper must not
exceed 6 pages in the conference proceedings format (including references).
Poster papers: Papers describing the outline of doctoral work or
preliminary results. A poster paper must not exceed 2 pages in the
conference proceedings format (including references). Submissions must
have the PhD student as first author.
Submission are handled through easychair:
http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=crisis2013. Submission will
be closing on August, 10th 2013 at 11:59pm CET.
Review Process and Acceptance
Selection will be based on the clarity of the submitted materials. A
mentor (chosen among PC members) will be nominated for each full paper
accepted for presentation at the workshop (confirmation pending). He/She
should follow the PhD student in the preparation of the camera ready
version, stimulate the discussion about the specific topic during the
workshop. Accepted submissions will be published in the proceedings. We
plan to award a prize for the best submission.
