The PICom Workshop Chairs invites proposals for the Workshops and
Symposiums immediately preceding the main conference of PICom 2014.
The PICom workshops offer a venue where participants are given the
opportunity to present discuss and brainstorm on new ideas,
technical topics, exciting new application areas and
cross-fertilization with other domains. The forums are meant as a
petri dish for new ideas and emerging topics in the field of intelligent
paradigms as well as their applications in various pervasive computing.
The topics can overspread many areas ranging from:

Relevant areas showcasing or contributing to PICom are all equally
encouraged. All workshops will take place on August 24-27, 2014 at
the site of the main conference. The details of the organization of
each workshop are left to its organizers.

March 20, 2014 Proposal submission deadline
March 30, 2014 Acceptance notification
April 2, 2014 Workshop web pages available and linked to the main
site.
Workshop CFP published.
April 20, 2014 Workshop paper submission
June 5, 2014 Notification of paper acceptance
June 30, 2014 Camera ready due
June 30, 2014 Registration
August 24-27, 2014 Workshops and symposia
PROPOSAL CONTENT
Each workshop proposal should include the following information:
1. Title and abstract giving the goals and scope of the workshop
2. Description of the target audience
3. List of tentative speakers and / or attendees (if available)
4. History of the workshop if this is not the first instance
5. Tentative organizing committee members (at least 2 to 3 members)
6. Contact information for the organizer.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS
The workshop organizers are responsible for:
1. Creating and distributing a call-for-papers, call-for-participation
and any other relevant advertising. The calls should make it clear that
at least one author of any accepted paper must attend the event and that
papers will be withdrawn if no such participation is secured with the
payment of the workshop dues. The call should clearly describe the
review and selection process. Finally, the calls must be framed to
encourage as broad participation as possible.
2. Creating and publishing (in a timely manner) a web site with all the
relevant information pertaining to the workshop.
3. Provide an extended abstract for the conference program
4. Review and select paper submissions
5. Schedule the presentations within the workshop
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PICom 2014 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
The conference organization is responsible for:
1. Provide publicity for the workshop program as a whole.
2. Provide logistics at the conference venue (meeting room, coffee breaks,
...).
3. Coordinate the allocation of time blocks for each workshop.
4. Coordinate the distribution of the workshop proceedings.
5. Collect the workshop dues covering the costs of space, breaks,
and distributed documents.
6. The PICom Publicity Chair will take care of CFP distributions and
publicity.

All proposals should be sent electronically to the workshop chairs
