Letters of Invitation and Visas
As part of the VISA application process, you may be required to submit a Letter
of Invitation. Organizing committees of ICIS 2016 can provide a Letter of
Invitation if required. Further information and application procedure can be
found here .
Registrants only attending pre-conference workshops can go through the same
process to request a visa invitation letter. On the letter request form, they
would select “ICIS 2016 - SIG/Ancillary Only” as the conference they are
attending.

Building upon the interest in Big Data Analytics
issues exhibited by MIS colleagues, the AIS SIGBDA ( http://aisnet.org/group/SIGBD ) will hold its pre-ICIS Big Data research workshop during ICIS 2016 in Dublin, Ireland on Monday evening,
December 12, 2016.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
The objective of the workshop is to provide an
opportunity for Big Data researchers to come together and build a dynamic
community for open and constructive discussions and exchange of ideas.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
The workshop will include paper and poster
presentations and a roundtable session on topics:
Big Data Analytics and Enterprise architecture (market & risk
analytics, smart processes, new business models)
Big Data and Industry 4.0
Big Data and Internet of Things
Big Data and Cloud computing
Ethics of Big Data
Differences in IT adoption and diffusion ( World
IT Project )
If you are a doctoral student and your research falls
under the broad domain of Big Data Analytics and application, you may
be interested in submitting your work to be considered for a roundtable. It is
being organized with the aim of showcasing doctoral student led research, while
further supporting students through feedback provided by a number of
seasoned scholars.
Each accepted doctoral student led research paper will
be assigned to one table with the author in attendance, and a discussion
of the research will be led by a senior scholar.
SPECIAL EVENTS – SIGBDA BUSINESS MEETING
Following the workshop a business meeting will be
conducted, and all those interested in the SIGBDA are invited to attend.
FAST-TRACKING OPPORTUNITIES WITH THCI
The best completed research papers from the workshop
will be fast-tracked for publication consideration in the JOURNAL «BUSINESS INFORMATICS» (ISSN 1998-0663) https://bijournal.hse.ru/en/
*Journal is highly visible for Eurasian MIS
professionals and since 2010 it is included into the list of peer reviewed
scientific editions established by the Supreme Certification Commission.
SUBMISSION, REVIEW, AND ACCEPTANCE PROCESS
The workshop will be accepting high quality research
papers as completed or research-in-progress papers, or doctoral student led
roundtable papers. Additionally, the workshop will be accepting work that
describes novel, early, and creative research ideas as posters. Authors
should identify their submission as “Completed Research”, “Research in
Progress”, “Posters”, or “Doctoral Student Roundtable Paper” on
the first page below the title. Submissions will undergo a double-blind
review process. The submissions should not be currently under review
elsewhere, and they should have not appeared elsewhere. All accepted submissions
will be published in the workshop proceedings, which are available
electronically in the AIS digital library.
Manuscripts should be submitted via email to the workshop program co-chairs at ( jtaratuhina at hse.ru ) with the subject heading
"Big Data workshop submission." Authors can
use the body of the email as the cover letter for the submission, and should ensure
that their identities do not appear in any part of the manuscript.
SUBMISSION FORMAT
Maximum length: the abstract should be between
200 and 300 words.
The recommended structure: purpose (mandatory), design
/ methodology / approach (mandatory), findings (mandatory), research
limitations / implications (if applicable), practical implications (if
applicable), originality / value (mandatory). The results should be described
as precisely and informatively as possible.
File Formats: Only Word file formats will be accepted.
All submissions must
be formatted in Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 spaced, fit
to the width, margins: left – 25 mm, all other – 15 mm.
Authors’ details:
Full name of each author
Position, rank, academic degree of each author
Affiliation of each author, at the time the research was completed
Full postal address of each affiliation (incl. postcode / ZIP)
E-mail address of each author.
Keywords: 6 to 10 (separated by semicolons).
