The BSafe.network (http://bsafe.network) is launching a series of open
technology competitions for blockchain technology. By means of over
twenty international blockchain nodes, all located in neutral
universities and isolated from existing blockchain network, the goal
of the competition is to build an experimental platform to share
research results by academic principles.

As the first of the series of competitions, the BSafe.network is
holding a /Layer 2 technology competition/. Layer 2 technology is
drawing a lot of attention given its promises of enhancing
scalability, privacy and other characteristics while using existing
fundamental blockchain technologies. As results of this competition,
we expect neutral comparisons and confirmed codebases.

Two categories are proposed: (1) new layer 2 technology and (2) fair
evaluation methodologies. We will award the selected proposal(s) at an
academic conference. Details of the award will be announced at the
competition website. The submission deadline is March 31, 2018, and we
will conduct the theoretical review by university researchers and
experiments over actual global scale blockchain research test network.

We encourage blockchain researchers and engineering communities to
submit proposals and receive academic evaluations, comparisons, and
reputations.
