                        ISSAC 2021

International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation
                        July 18-23 2021
                    Saint Petersburg, Russia

              PRELIMINARY CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

             http://www.issac-conference.org/2021

----------------------------------------------------------------------

*** HYBRID CONFERENCE ***

Despite the international situation making it impossible to hold
ISSAC'21 the way usual ISSAC conferences are held, the conference will
maintain all aspects of the program. It will be organized according to
the following exceptional format:

* ISSAC'21 will be run in a hybrid mode, that is, with largest
attendance online and a possibility to attend in person for those
  able to travel.
* The working times will be from 14:00 to 20:00 in Saint Petersburg,
so as to accommodate as many time zones as possible.
* The conference will spread over 5 days, including tutorials (Mon 19
  to Fri 23 July).

This choice will ensure that all talks and components of the
conference have the same duration as in usual (in-person) meetings.

A pre-conference workshop in honor of Vladimir Gerdt will take place
on Sunday 18 July.

*** INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN-PERSON ***

To adjust the resource needed by the in-person part of the conference,
the local organizers need an estimate of the number of in-person
participants. Please, declare your intent to participate *in-person*
BEFORE MAY 28, 2021, by writing to issac-loc at pca-pdmi.ru.

*** CONFERENCE FEES AND REGISTRATION ***

All attendees pay a virtual conference fee. In-person participants pay
an additional in-person conference fee. Detailed information will
appear on the ISSAC'21 website when the registration website opens.

*** HOTEL RESERVATION ***

The local organizers have pre-reserved a hotel room block in Russ
Hotel (https://hotelruss.spb.ru/) with a special rate. Please, ask for
a single or double room when you declare your intent to participate.

*** TRAVEL AND LOCAL SUPPORT ***

Thanks to a grant by the Simons Foundation, a number of slots are
available for supporting young researchers or students by covering
local costs and travel. Please, apply to issac-loc at pca-pdmi.ru NO
LATER THAN MAY 28, 2021. A notification of those applicants who will
be supported will be sent by June 11. Some constraints may apply,
notably, travel tickets need to be bought by the organizers. Please
inquire for details.

*** VISA TO RUSSIA ***

In addition to any potential covid-related temporary travel
restriction to Russia, citizens of a large number of countries require
a visa to enter the country. Should you need an invitation letter,
please write to issac-loc at pca-pdmi.ru.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation is
the premier conference for research in symbolic computation and
computer algebra. ISSAC 2021 will be the 46th meeting in the series,
which started in 1966 and has been held annually since 1981. The
conference presents a range of invited talks, tutorials, poster
sessions, software demonstrations and vendor exhibits with a
centerpiece of contributed research papers.

ISSAC 2021 will be held on 18-23 July 2021 at St. Petersburg
Department of V.A. Steklov Mathematical Institute (PDMI RAS), Saint
Petersburg, Russia. Workshops will be held on July 18th and tutorial
sessions will be held on July 19th 2021.
