The First IEEE Open Software Services Award aims to support, inspire, retain, and encourage the importance of “Open-Source Software Services Ecosystems” for services computing R&D and long-lasting impact-making efforts. All are welcome to submit applications to the Award via EasyChair in terms of factual impact-making contributions to “open-source software”, “open data”, and/or “open-source software based API services”.

 

Submission Due: Sunday, 5th June 2022

Ø  Small-team based contributions to “open source software”, “open data”, and/or “open source software based API services” with https://opensource.org/licenses

Ø  Factual data showing utilization of the open source contributions, e.g., rankings and ratings, download counts, API service invocation statistics, document citation counts, user reviews, etc.

Ø  Availability of free access/download URLs for, e.g., public GIT repos, S3 buckets, Docker Hub images, etc.

Ø  Documents for, e.g., consumers, developers, practitioners, researchers, etc.

Ø  Committee members may contact the applicants for clarification on submitted materials.

Award Notification: Monday, 20th June 2022

Ø  Winners will be announced at the website of IEEE SERVICES 2022, https://conferences.computer.org/services/2022/

Ø  Video for the Awards Ceremony of IEEE SERVICES 2022 will be distributed through the YouTube Channel of IEEE Computer Society.

Ø  Each awarded team will receive a cash prize of USD 600 from the IEEE TCSVC.

 

Categories of interest include

Ø  Student vs. Professional.

Ø  Lead student contributors must be active undergraduate/graduate students at application submission time.

Ø  Cash prize will be mailed/wired to the winning team leads by IEEE Computer Society staff.  U.S. W9 form will be requested in the process.
