[Om] Questions about representing units

Is there any value in considering / is there a convenient time to consider 
off-loading the physical units specification to UnitsML?  Not abruptly, of 
course, but say in OM3 the old units CDs could be deprecated at the same 
time the new grammar is introduced?  Units are still looked up in a 
catalog, of course, but someone ELSE maintains the catalog.  Someone like 
NIST in the US.

FYI, the UnitsML Technical committee is looking for members because right 
now the US's NIST dominates the TC.  Your (plural, as in "you all's")
experience with units use in OM could be quite valuable.  And units have a 
somewhat broader applicability than just in math expressions. ;)
