 Um - with david and Michael against me, I'm in trouble. I guess the point
 is about where the boundaries are:
 Content / Presentation / Renderers/ Unicode
 I note that MathML3 draft says "operators that usually render invisibly,
 such as ⁢", and in one model (which was my mental one) the
 renderer, on seeing 3 &InvisbleTimes; 4 would say: THIS time, I should put
 ink to paper, else what I produce is misleading. I cannot see a
 REQUIREMENT for &InvisbleTimes; to produce the corresponding unicode,
 though if there is such a requirement, then this argues against the
 intelligent renderer.
